OUR PRINCIPLES
Collaboration | It requires a team of various stakeholders to take a concept and make it a reality. With an integrated and transparent approach, our clients include provincial agencies, local societies, client-rep organizations, indigenous communities, private developers and local businesses. As professionals within the region, we work with engineers, consultants and construction professionals to get the job done. Drawing on our in-house talent, we foster corporate knowledge through an office culture that has regular pin-ups, team structures and peer reviews.
Creative Innovation | Creative innovation is essential in keeping clients’ projects viable and sustainable. Innovative building systems, modular construction, daylighting, local materials, and energy-efficient mechanical and electrical systems can improve environmental stewardship, occupant health and a building’s longevity. Within each project and across all team members, we have years of experience which guides design solutions and provides cost savings measures through the design process. Our team is proficient with best practices of building envelope and construction and we champion great design because we know that beauty is an element of sustainability.
Social Accountability | We recognize our role within this changing climate. Carbon neutral design, step-code and passive design principles are part of this accountability. We have achieved Step Code 4 BCH, Passive Haus and LEED accreditation on past projects. We have also participated in social innovation including “Living communities”, the “Kelowna Infill Challenge”, ‘Propolis’ a cooperative housing in Kamloops and Skuppah Food Security Building located new Lytton, BC. We are honored to be part of affordable housing projects when we can, knowing the important role they play within our communities. We see a social duty to foster walkable neighbourhoods and vibrant urban centres. We also contribute to our local economy through tenant improvements and renovations to create workplaces that can remain viable and prosperous. We are currently working on two mass timber projects targeting carbon-neutral design and we aim for natural building materials when possible.
